When the reconstruction of Narsiečiai streets began, a mound was piled from the street soil. But what is the history of the stones that were unearthed?
The Association’s president Vilma and deputy Gintarė saw the excavated large stones. Not knowing at the time what they could be used for, one hot summer’s day during the reconstruction of the streets, they trudged through the construction site to ask for the stones. Not only did the women manage to arrange for a few stones to remain in Narsiečiai, but also for them to be delivered to the Leisure Area in Narsiečiai. Back then, we had no idea what those stones could be used for, but after some time an idea arose: to monumentalise one stone with the pride of Narsiečiai, the linden symbol, and adorn it with the Linden Wreath and the association’s motto „Together We Can Do Much More”. The blacksmith who lives in Narsiečiai, P. Andrius, created several samples, the members of the association chose the most suitable one and the blacksmith adorned the stone with his own creation. Thank you to Andrius! The stone that once lay under the soil of our streets, now proudly reminds us that Together We Can Do Much More; and reminds us all of the wonderful Linden Alley we have, which we must protect.
